I’m Ms. Sarah Deardeuff,
I began training in martial arts as a young adult with the goals of improving my mental health, finding a fun way to be physically active, and connecting with others.
Martial arts has been a massive benefit in every area of my life. It has helped me work through anxiety and depression, increased my confidence and social skills, and become a daily source of motivation and happiness.
I chose to become a martial arts instructor to continue improving myself, gain a deeper knowledge of martial arts, and help others improve their technique and overcome challenges. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see others grow and achieve their goals.
What I love most about teaching martial arts is the opportunity to make a positive impact on our students’ lives. I love seeing students come out of their shell, gain self-esteem, and accomplish things they once thought were impossible—all through perseverance and dedication.
My goal as an instructor is to never stop learning and advancing, so I can be the best possible instructor for my students. I also strive to always be kind and patient, ensuring each student knows they are special and capable of great things.
Some of my most memorable moments involve witnessing self-esteem in action. Seeing students who were too shy to speak on their first day eventually perform or speak in front of a crowd is incredibly rewarding. It’s my hope that the lessons they learn in martial arts will stay with them in every aspect of their life.
